- Take the 50-minute Niomaru sightseeing cruise; regular departures are usually hourly from 9:00am to 4:00pm (the 4:00pm service does not run in winter).

- Walk across the red Fukuura Bridge to Fukuurajima Island (small crossing fee).

Tickets and Fees
Checked in July 2026: the regular 50-minute Niomaru Course costs yen 1,500 for adults (13+), yen 750 for children aged 6-12, and is free for infants under 6 (a charge may apply when infants outnumber guardians). Regular departures are usually hourly from 9:00am to 4:00pm; the 4:00pm cruise does not run in winter, and extra departures may be added during busy holidays. The open upper deck costs an additional yen 600 for adults or yen 300 for children, is paid on board, and cannot be reserved. Services can be canceled when conditions are unsafe, so check the operator timetable and operation status before visiting.
How to Get There
Take the JR Senseki Line from Sendai Station to Matsushima-Kaigan Station (about 40 minutes by local train), then walk about 6 minutes to the sightseeing-boat pier. Arrive early for a window seat: passengers board in the order they queue.
